RESEARCH INTERESTS

Dr. Mansfield's research examines social support networks in healthcare settings, with a primary focus on parents navigating complex pediatric conditions like congenital heart defects. Her work extends to studying stress and coping mechanisms among cancer survivors and their caregivers, including innovative research using audio diaries to capture experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic. Through mixed-methods approaches, she investigates how social support influences health outcomes and care management.
