BIO
Brandon Stauffer is an Adjunct Professor of Stage Management in the Department of Theatre at the University of Utah. With more than two decades of professional experience in theatre, live entertainment, and venue operations, he brings a practical, real-world perspective into every classroom.
Throughout his career, Brandon has worked in nearly every corner of the performing arts, including stage management, production management, technical direction, event operations, design, and arts administration. His professional experience includes work with organizations such as Cirque du Soleil, the Miss USA Organization, and numerous regional theatres, concert productions, dance companies, operas, and community arts organizations. He has also produced and managed performances featuring Broadway artists while leading large production teams and complex live events.
A passionate educator, Brandon has spent years teaching and mentoring emerging theatre artists through universities, high schools, community programs, workshops, and master classes. His teaching emphasizes leadership, collaboration, communication, organization, and the ability to solve problems under pressure. He believes stage management is about far more than keeping a prompt book. It is about creating an environment where artists can do their best work while fostering professionalism, trust, and respect.
In addition to his work in higher education, Brandon is the founder and former Executive Director of a nonprofit performing arts organization dedicated to making theatre education accessible to thousands of students and community members each year. His leadership experience allows him to connect classroom concepts with the realities of producing live entertainment, managing teams, and building sustainable arts organizations.
Whether discussing rehearsal etiquette, calling a complex production, coordinating technical rehearsals, or navigating the human side of leadership, Brandon strives to prepare students not only for their next production, but for successful and meaningful careers in the performing arts.
