As a community based researcher, my research is not my own, but belongs to my community. Because of this, my research interests are vast, responding to community priorities such as juvenile justice, gentrification, economic disparities, and ageism, amongst others. My main area of expertise however is in education, particularly the intersection of institutes of higher education and bodies of culture. While I consider myself to be a mixed-methods scholar, I also tend to gravitate more towards qualitive, testimonio, type research, but we need all kinds of data to tell the story of the human condition.
