RESEARCH INTERESTS

Current reseach is using dynamic testing with the split Hopkinson pressur bar (SHPB) on new materials to change their physical properties.  Past research developed a new underground mining tool (based on moifications of the common Spilt Set rock bolt) to measure borhole displacements, caused by mining, to compute a change in the rock mass stress state and to be used to calibrate numerical models.
