BIO

I teach courses in Political Theory and American Government. My research examines the everyday political participation of ordinary citizens. I typically execute my research through ethnographic encounters in local public institutions such as schools, neighborhoods, and libraries. Prior to coming to the University of Utah, I spent six years working on an ethographic study of school decision making councils in Italy, France, Spain, and the United States. I am currently working on a project of immigrant participation in cities in Italy and the United States. My work has been published in The Journal of Politics, Polity, and Political Studies.
