RESEARCH INTERESTS

My research interests focus on advancing mental health nursing education and clinical practice through simulation-based learning, emphasizing health equity, cultural humility, and patient-centered care. As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Board Certified (PMHNP-BC), I am particularly interested in integrating innovative teaching methods to enhance students’ clinical skills, empathy, and understanding of social determinants of health (SDOH).

Additionally, I explore the application of experiential learning to improve therapeutic alliance, address therapy-interfering behaviors, and prepare future psychiatric nurse practitioners to lead compassionate, evidence-based mental health care. My work also includes evaluating educational strategies that promote psychological safety and inclusivity in nursing education.
