Earthquake session in the Exploring Engineering camp

Session for high school students about earthquake effects on buildings. The students built scale models that were tested in our educational shake table.

Exploring Engineering Camp

We organized a two summer camps at the U of U with two groups of 20 kids. In both camps the participants were junior and senior high schoolers. The topic was related to the damage from earthquakes on buildings and how we can prevent them. There was a hand-on activity where the students built a structure that was later tested in an educational shake table.
