RESEARCH INTERESTS

Dr. Wei’s research focuses on cognitive processes during reading, with a particular emphasis on how individuals engage with text in real time. Utilizing eye-tracking technology, she investigates reading skills, comprehension strategies, and cognitive load to gain deeper insight into how readers process information.

In addition to her work in cognitive psychology, Dr. Wei is actively engaged in scale development and psychometric evaluation. She designs and validates measurement instruments to assess cognitive and psychological constructs, with a strong emphasis on ensuring reliability and validity in both research and applied settings. Her work integrates classical test theory with modern psychometric approaches, including item response theory, to improve the precision and interpretability of assessments used in education and psychology.

Through these research endeavors, Dr. Wei aims to bridge cognitive psychology, educational assessment, and quantitative methods to advance both theoretical understanding and measurement practices in the social sciences.
