RESEARCH INTERESTS

dr. yoon's scholarship is concerned with dignity and belonging for students (and their teachers) in diverse schools. She immerses herself in school cultures and practices to understand the layers of race, class, gender and sexuality, and disability in leadership, learning, and school systems. dr. yoon is then able to articulate and theorize (de)humanizing pedagogies and systems in teachers’ and leaders’ professional learning, school reform and policy implementation, and ambitious equitable instruction. dr. yoon also writes about the methodologies behind this research, e.g., hauntology, arts-based research-creation, and love in research and professional praxis.
