BIO
Dr. Deyette, a Connecticut native, moved to Salt Lake City in 2012 after closing her private practice of 17 years in Ridgefield, CT. In that practice, she worked with adolescents and adults, specializing in eating disorders, mood and anxiety disorders, women’s issues, mid-life transitions, combat and civilian trauma, and moral injury.
In addition to her clinical work in Connecticut, Dr. Deyette taught undergraduate psychiatric nursing students as adjunct faculty at the University of Connecticut (UCONN) School of Nursing. While completing her PhD in Nursing, she was awarded a Doctoral Teaching Fellowship and instructed students in the Master’s Entry into Nursing Program, teaching Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing Across the Lifespan.
Dr. Deyette joined the University of Utah in 2013 as an Assistant Professor (Clinical). She continued treating adolescents and adults in the greater Salt Lake community through the University’s outpatient clinics. Her psychotherapeutic approach includes psychodynamic, supportive, person-centered, and trauma-informed therapies, with integration of cognitive and experiential modalities.
In 2014, Dr. Deyette developed and began teaching Foundations in Psychotherapy: The Art and Science of Healing in Relationship, one of the core courses in the DNP-PMHNP program. She was appointed Lead Faculty for the program’s three psychotherapy-focused practicum courses in 2018. The following year, she was elected Specialty Track Director for the DNP-PMHNP program (becoming Director in January 2020). In June 2020, she was promoted to Associate Professor (Clinical).
Outside of her academic and clinical roles, Dr. Deyette enjoys skiing, hiking, and bicycling in the mountains of Utah.
