Jennifer is an ecosystem ecologist whose research examines how global changes affect microbial community dynamics and ecosystem processes that, in turn, influence water quality in freshwater systems and biogeochemical cycles in both aquatic and terrestrial habitats. Her research advances basic science and informs societal needs, such as mitigation of impaired waterways, riparian conservation, assessment of river and riparian restoration, and green infrastructure design.
