RESEARCH INTERESTS

My research focuses on stereotyping, discrimination, and group oppression and their intersections with ethics and epistemology. I also write about philosophical methodology -- and, in particular, the relationship between structural, psychological, and first-personal explanations of injustice. I contend that the best explanations of injustice must integrate knowledge across disciplinary boundaries and will therefore be collaborative. Though emphasizing the importance of history for understanding ethics, my work has implications for cutting-edge technologies involving artificial intelligence and machine learning.
