RESEARCH INTERESTS
Quentin Baldwin's research examines how human capability develops, can be observed, and can be strengthened when artificial intelligence becomes a routine collaborator in learning, work, and leadership.
Building on more than fifteen years of leadership in financial services, project management, and organizational transformation, his scholarship integrates management education, organizational behavior, Responsible AI, and workforce development to investigate the capabilities that distinguish AI-ready graduates and AI-ready organizations.
His current research introduces Human Capability Telemetry, a behavioral framework for understanding how individuals engage with AI through observable processes such as inquiry, delegation, evidence evaluation, verification, trust calibration, judgment, and reflection. Using undergraduate management education as an empirical laboratory, this work seeks to develop evidence-based approaches for preparing students to work responsibly and effectively alongside increasingly capable AI systems.
This research builds upon his earlier scholarship in discursive diversity, organizational communication, and governance. Rather than treating diversity, leadership, and AI as separate domains, his current work explores how organizational discourse, emerging technologies, and human capability interact to influence learning, leadership, innovation, and long-term organizational performance.
His long-term vision is to establish Human Capability Science as an interdisciplinary research program that advances the measurement and development of human capability across education, organizations, and society.
