RESEARCH INTERESTS
Our lab examines the neural processes underlying motor learning and memory consolidation, with an emphasis on how brain-behavior relationships change across the human lifespan (i.e., from childhood to older adulthood). Our research pairs various motor learning paradigms with functional and structural neuroimaging approaches, including analyses of task-related and resting state brain activity/connectivity, and magnetic resonance spectroscopy. Experimental interventions, including non-invasive brain stimulation, exercise, sleep and behavioral manipulations are used to modulate learning and memory processes. With this multimodal research approach, we aim to develop and implement novel avenues to facilitate sensorimotor development in children and minimize age-related declines in older adults.
