RESEARCH INTERESTS

Our group’s research focuses on materials chemistry with an emphasis on understanding and controlling the synthesis, structure, and properties of functional solid-state materials. We pursue crystal growth and advanced crystallographic techniques to resolve structure at multiple length scales, and we combine these insights with electrochemical and physical property measurements to establish clear structure–property relationships. A major thrust of our work is the design and characterization of Li-ion battery materials, where we investigate how crystal structure, defects, and ion transport pathways influence electrochemical performance. In parallel, we explore novel magnetic materials, correlating their crystallographic features with magnetic and electronic behavior to uncover new phenomena and guide the development of next-generation functional materials.
