RESEARCH INTERESTS

My research interests include integrating BIPOC dance artists into American dance history, with an emphasis on Black dancers in ballet. I possess a passion for the excavation Black and other people of color histories in American dance and in higher education  dance considering the lack of information and knowledge concerning their achievements. I am also interested removing the elitism from American dance, in particular cultural elitism and elitist structures. Other topics of interest and attention in my research include dance education,  dance as worship, dance in religion and ministry, and in intersectional embodied practice.
