ALYSSA STANSFIELD
Assistant Professor
Atmospheric Sciences
RESEARCH INTERESTS
Alyssa works to combine advanced atmospheric modeling and observations to better understand the connections between extreme weather and the large-scale climate. She is interested in researching hurricanes, midlatitude cyclones, mesoscale convective systems, extreme precipitation, and compound extremes. She is also interested in researching the impacts of extreme weather on human and environmental systems and improving the communication of climate science to the public.
