Tim Palmer

Tim Palmer is Professor of Film & Media Arts at the University of Utah, whose research has been sponsored by the National Endowment for the Humanities, the American Council of Learned Societies, and the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation.  His books are Brutal Intimacy: Analyzing Contemporary French Cinema (2011), Irreversible (2015), and, as co-editor, Directory of World Cinema: France (2013).  His next book is Cinema Marianne: A New History of Women and Marginality in the French Film Ecosystem, while his most recent publications focus on essay films, revisionist feminist historiography, intervention subtitling, and applied cinephilia.
