BIO

With six years of experience as a special education teacher and twelve years as an English language teacher, I’ve gained firsthand insight into the challenges of assessment practices, eligibility requirements, and behavioral and instructional supports needed in a classroom. These experiences have shown me how teaching strategies impact student learning outcomes and influence student engagement within their learning communities. Currently, I’m exploring the impact of the Self-Regulated Strategy Development (SRSD) instructional framework and the use of writing-to-learn mathematics within a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS). This work aims to deepen our understanding of students’ learning and the professional development of their teachers.
