BIO

My work has focused on two fundamental questions: What limits human power production and How can science help athletes perform at their highest level?.

As a researcher and professor, I aim to bridge the gap between laboratory discovery and Olympic-level performance. My career began on the velodrome, where my experiences as a competitive racer and coach—including Texas State and Masters National Championships—sparked the curiosity that drives my scientific inquiry. Today, I combine biomechanics, exercise physiology, and mathematical modeling to investigate the mechanisms governing maximal power, fatigue, and efficiency, with applications ranging from elite sport to rehabilitation and healthy aging
