RESEARCH INTERESTS

My research focuses on improving nursing education, geriatric care, and interdisciplinary collaboration to enhance patient outcomes. I explore palliative and dementia care, transitions of care, and dementia care and caregiving, with an emphasis on how nurses can better support individuals and families.

I am also interested in innovative teaching methodologies, including simulation-based learning, competency-based education, and the integration of person-directed living principles into nursing curricula. My work examines how age-friendly health systems and social determinants of health influence patient care and nursing education.

Additionally, I study nursing workforce development, particularly in preparing nurses to work in complex healthcare environments. My research includes peer-reviewed publications and funded projects that seek to bridge the gap between education, practice, and policy to improve care for older adults and vulnerable populations.
