MAGGIE FRENCH

TEACHING INTERESTS

My teaching responsibilities include teaching in the entry-level DPT program, the Rehabilitation Science PhD program, and mentoring future clinicians and researchers. My goal as an instructor and a mentor is to prepare students and mentees to be leaders in the field of rehabilitation who are committed to actively contributing to and supporting their community. To achieve this goal, my teaching and mentoring philosophy centers on three key principles: fostering mutual respect and trust, supporting self-discovery and autonomy, and creating a culture of continuous learning. I am committed to creating a supportive environment where students and mentees feel valued and heard and where questions are welcomed and valued. I am passionate about empowering students and mentees to uncover their strengths, embrace their goals, and develop their own solutions to challenges.
