Established a research collaboration with the ASDC as a mechanism to help address staffing shortages and clients on the waitlist. The ASDC was not able to offer as many social skills groups as intended and had a long waitlist of clients waiting for intervention services. We formed a research collaboration by offering two social skills groups free of cost for clients on the waitlist. Further, this functioned as an opportunity for school psychology graduate students to develop both therapeutic and research skills, as they are serving as the student clinicians/researchers assisting with the two social skills groups that are also research projects focused on evaluating the effectiveness of the social skills interventions.
